An intelligence alert has been issued in the national capital after warnings of a potential terrorist threat near the Red Fort, with sources indicating that a temple in the Chandni Chowk area could be a target. According to intelligence sources, intel sources say key religious spots near Red Fort and in Chandni Chowk are still targets for Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). ntelligence inputs suggest the Lashkar-e-Taiba group is actively plotting an attack using an improvised explosive device (IED). A temple right in the heart of Chandni Chowk stands out as a likely target for this dangerous scheme.
Sources go further, revealing that the terror outfit is driven by a thirst for revenge over the February 6 blast that rocked a mosque in Islamabad, Pakistan. In retaliation, they may be gearing up for a large-scale strike somewhere in India to make their point.
“Blast warning right in front of Delhi’s Red Fort,” intelligence sources warned. “Terrorists could hit a temple in Chandni Chowk. Lashkar-e-Taiba is scheming an IED attack. They’re plotting a huge strike in India to get even for the February 6 mosque blast in Islamabad, Pakistan. LeT might target major temples nationwide.”
Sources added that LeT could target big temples across India, keeping major religious sites firmly in their sights.
